TransAction Associates has successfully completed hundreds of employee surveys for both the private- and public-sectors, and non-profit organizations. Most of these employee surveys have been conducted to collect data for the preparation of Massachusetts Rideshare Regulation reports and City of Cambridge PTDM reports, or in compliance with other states’ trip-reduction requirements (e.g., Arizona, California, Oregon, and Washington), while others have collected information for local or regional entities for grants or roadway projects. In 2010 alone TransAction filed approximately 60 reports with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection for clients. In many cases, the data collected during surveys provided the basis for the design of Commuter Options Programs at the worksite to encourage the use of alternatives to driving alone.
TransAction has more than 15 years of experience conducting surveys in various languages specific to:
- The requirements of the Massachusetts Rideshare Regulation enforced by the Department of Environmental Protection
- State and county trip-reduction programs such as those in Arizona, Oregon and the state of Washington
- Higher educational institutions collecting data for President’s Climate Commitment
- Higher educational institutions dealing with attitudes, diversity, ethnicity, and interest in courses including CTE Graduate one-year follow-up surveys for schools receiving Perkins Act funding
- Economic development to determine infrastructure and public transit needs
- Customer satisfaction and product surveys
Using the latest technology, our services encompass everything from survey development through production of reports using both paper-based and online surveys. We work with clients to develop the appropriate survey questions, method and tool—generally achieving a response rate of 75 percent or higher. We then compile information to create a dataset to produce easy-to-read reports showing frequencies and percent distribution of the results in tabular and graphic form.
Attitudinal Surveys
TransAction conducts student attitudinal surveys dealing with diversity, ethnicity, and interest in courses, as well as multi-language surveys to determine placement of campuses. For example, TransAction worked with Bunker Hill Community College in Boston to survey neighborhoods in Chinatown, Revere, and Chelsea to determine interest in neighborhood classes.
TransAction also conducts community economic development surveys to determine future infrastructure needs and potential public transportation routes. For example, the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) hired TransAction to survey major employers in the Town of Bedford to explore the feasibility of providing transit connections and areas of opportunity for improving infrastructure to prepare for future business needs.
CTE Graduate One-Year Follow-up Surveys
TransAction has developed an accurate, effective, cost-efficient telephone survey service that covers the majority of the Department of Education’s (DOE) Career and Technical Education (CTE) Graduate One-Year Follow-up Survey requirements.
